GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All futurity classes are governed by PtHA rules. Horses MUST be PtHA registered and owner MUST be a current PtHA member.
2. All decisions made by the LONE STAR CLASSIC FUTURITY COMMITTEE are final.
3. By entering the futurity, owners acknowledge the right and grant permission to the manager of this futurity to perform DRUG TESTING on any or all horses entered, randomly, or in any manner decided by the committee. PtHA rules regarding drug testing will apply.
4. A duplicate copy of the PtHA original certificate, or a duplicate copy of the Sector Director’s Conditional Registration Certificate MUST BE FURNISHED TO THE FUTURITY ADMINISTRATORS NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE FUTURITY SHOW or the entry will be invalidated. Registration papers will be used for identification purposes and to verify ownership.
5. Prize money for entries receiving payback will be paid to the current documented owner as recorded on the PtHA registration certificate. CHECKS WILL BE READY BY 12:00 (NOON) OF THE FOLLOWING DAY. CHECKS NOT PICKED UP ON SEPTEMBER 12TH WILL BE MAILED TO THE OWNER WITHIN 10 DAYS.
6. There will be NO REFUNDS of entry fees or charges paid, and NO SUBSTITUTION of animals is allowed.
7. LATE PENALTIES: See rules for each specific futurity division for late entry cut off’s.
8. Payments must be made in a timely manner. A LATE PAYMENT CHARGE OF $10.00 will be applied to any of the sustaining payments postmarked after the 10th day of the month in which it is due. If the payment, with applicable late charge, has not been received by the 25th day of the month in which it is due, the entry will be dropped from the futurity unless the entrant contacts the futurity committee and makes satisfactory arrangements.
9. A RETURNED CHECK FEE of $25.00 will be charged for checks returned unpaid for any reason. This fee, plus the amount of the check, must be paid in cash, cashier’s check, or money order within 15 days of notification that the check was returned or the entry will be dropped from the futurity unless the entrant contacts the futurity committee and makes arrangements for payment.
10. POSTMARK determines date of entry/payment. Postmarks must be made
by the U.S. Postal Service. Postal meter dates are not acceptable. Mail
all correspondence to:

11. Information provided on entry forms must be complete. Incomplete documents will be returned to the entrant and late entry fees may be incurred if not received back by the deadline.
12. An entry must be exhibited in ALL GO-ROUNDS OF THEIR CLASS AND MUST BE SHOWN BACK IN THEIR RESPECTIVE SHOW CLASS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAYMENT. Futurity classes with 4 or more entries will NOT be combined with the regular show class. Classes with 3 or less entries MAY be combined with the regular show class depending on the entries in the regular class.
13. All entries exhibited in the futurity will be placed. When all horses
have been judged and placed by each judge, points will be tabulated on
each horse as follows:

14. The futurity committee reserves the right to combine or split
classes as warranted by the number of class entrants
15. All futurity classes will be triple judged and will be held on September 11, 1998 in Seguin, Texas in conjunction with the South Texas Pintos Show.
16. The number of horses shown in each futurity class determines payout. Payout for each class will be approximately as follows:

Weanling Futurity Rules and Regulations
Weanling Futurity classes will be offered for: Stock/Hunter Mares,
Stock/Hunter Stallions & Geldings, Pleasure/Saddle – All sexes, and
Breeding Stock – All types and sexes. Classes may be
split by sex and/or type if number or entries warrant.

1. Administrative costs will be $15.00 per entry. All other fees paid are held for payout. Fees include PtHA office charges.
2. The stallion listing fee may be paid by the stallion’s owner or other person; however, the stallion purse will be paid to the person who paid the fee.
3. The Stallion listing and mare nomination fees will be designed as a listing/nomination for the year in which the serviced mare foals.
4. Stallions and mares need not be PtHA registered as long as the resulting foal is eligible for PtHA registration. If PtHA denies the foal’s application for registration, the foal will not be eligible to show in the futurity and no refunds of fees or payments will be made.
5. Owners are urged to submit their foal’s registration paperwork to the PtHA office as soon as possible so as to have their registration papers back in a timely manner. A copy of the registration certificate is to be sent to the futurity committee NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE FUTURITY SHOW OR THE ENTRY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
6. LATE ENTRIES will be accepted with a penalty fee. ALL FEES DUES (per schedule listed above) and PENALTIES must be paid to accept entry.
10 February – 28 February $25.00 late penalty fee

4. For AMATEUR FUTURITY ENTRIES: Amateur must be the recorded owner or leasee at the time of entry. Lease must be on file at PtHA at time of entry. A copy of lease must be provided to the futurity committee NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE FUTURITY SHOW OR THE ENTRY WILL BE INVALIDATED.
